The band’s first gig was just three weeks away when the original drummer left and my best friend at the time, who was  the leader,  encouraged me to fill  the position  only because I was always at their practice sessions tapping on  my thighs to the beat of  whichever song  they were practicing.

So why did I do it?
Simple, the attention and fun that members of bands have was

attractive and made it hard to resist.That  adventurous  spirit

has stuck with  me throughout  years.

Today, at seventy-oneteen (yep I always keep the “teen” in my

in my age), I am still tapping away on my thighs to YouTube

music videos and having fun doing it, I guess once a drummer

always a drummer. And for anything rock, I get into character

and play "air drums" (if you get what I mean).

I remember leaving college and thinking I'm ready to conquer

the world and boy was I in for a surprise. Life turned out to be

a puzzle that college didn't prepare me for... taxes, interest rates

and government policies that suck the life out of you.... Yikes!

My wife and I are like day and night, perfectly balanced

opposites. I’m the ready-shoot-aim type, while she is what happens if you miss the target. I joke around most of the times and sometimes, just sometimes... she gets it. 

And though I’ve learned that keeping her age and weight a top-secret is conducive to enjoying a good marital relationship, we have a blast together, especially with our two children!

The Glass Ceiling
I was raised with strong social values: respect for elders, good manners, and

a strong sense of duty. These values have been the foundation of my success

in the corporate world, where I served as General Manager and Executive

Director of a leading property and casualty insurance company. I was in

charge of insurance operations including marketing.

The perks were fantastic: vacations in Europe, US, Canada, Japan and the

Caribbean.

Then there was the dining and hobnobbing with the elites of industry... the

back patting, the feelings of importance. Of course there was also the nice

cars and house in an up market location and international travel.

I was living my rich life.

The Unexpected Crisis

Most times crisis comes out of the blue. In my case, life threw me a curve ball

when the company was sold, and with new ownership came a new corporate

mindset into the company. Despite getting the top rating in my performance

appraisal and qualifying for profit sharing worth three and a half months of

salary I was made redundant because I was told the company was heading a

in a different direction... a load of "bollocks"!

Anyway 'nuff' said about this unpleasant chapter in my life.

When One Door Closes Another One Opens

Corporate life no longer appealed to me; the politics and declining ethics were

a turn-off, but I had a taste of the executive lifestyle and wanted to go after it

again but this time I wanted control of my personal economy, I wanted to be

able to determine my future and live MY rich life.

Network Marketing was an attractive solution for many reasons most

convincing of which were the low investment required to own and operate,

the ability to earn multiple recurring income and the availability of done-for-

you systems to help you achieve my financial goals.    

But it wasn’t easy. Being new to the industry, I faced many failures. I joined

several network marketing companies without much success. I bought

systems that fell short of their advertised hype, and experienced more

frustration than triumph. The few times I did make money wasn't enough to

cover my monthly expenses.

But I never gave up. I held onto my unwavering belief that if I kept my hunger for living my rich life constantly in my mind's eye, my period of struggle would eventually turn around.

In the beginning

I was born in the vibrant Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago, where the sun shines 365 days a year, and you’re never more than a short drive from a beautiful beach. My life began here, but my ambitions have always aimed far beyond.

Family is at the core of everything I do. I'm blessed with four incredible children: a daughter and a son from my first marriage, aged 43 and 38, and another son and daughter, aged 18 and 15, from my current marriage. Yes, I’m proud to say I did it again, raising another wonderful family.

My college life was filled with a whirlwind of sport like soccer, cricket and the 100m sprint. I also took a wild but unexpected leap into music, becoming the drummer for a band my college friends formed despite never having touched a drum set before.
